About MedTrip Korea
An independent English-language guide to the practical side of getting treatment in Korea: the sequence, the paperwork, the money and the timing.
Why it exists
Search in English for anything about treatment in Korea and nearly every result is published by someone who earns a commission when you book — an agency, a broker, or a clinic's marketing page. That is not necessarily dishonest, but it means nobody is writing the boring, useful part: how quotes are structured, how many days you actually have to stay, what happens at the payment desk, which documents to collect before you fly home.
What we will not do
- We do not recommend or refer you to any specific hospital, clinic or doctor.
- We do not arrange treatment, appointments or travel on anyone's behalf.
- We take no payment from hospitals or clinics for coverage or introductions.
- We do not give medical advice. Nothing here replaces a licensed doctor.
Under Korean law, arranging or brokering treatment for foreign patients requires registration as a patient-attraction business. We are not registered, so we stay firmly on the information side of that line — and the information side is where the gap was anyway.
How the site makes money
Advertising, and affiliate links for ordinary travel services such as accommodation, transport and SIM cards. Affiliate links are disclosed where they appear, cost you nothing extra, and never point to a medical provider. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
How the pages are written
- Facts are checked against Korean-language primary sources — government bodies, hospital notices, official portals — and every article lists its sources.
- Anything that could change, particularly prices, taxes and visa rules, is marked as needing verification and linked to the source rather than stated flatly.
- Every article shows the date it was last updated.
- Drafts are reviewed by a person before publication. Nothing is published automatically.
